Sadly, many people associate Union with the tragic 1994 deaths of Michael and Alex Smith. If you would like to pay tribute to these angels there is a memorial located at John D. Long Lake, which is approximately 10 miles from Rice Avenue off of Highway 49 (Lockhart Highway, which turns into Main Street).
